Thula Norton Lambert is a native of Guyana, South America. She has a wealth of international and cross-cultural experience working with ethnically and linguistically diverse populations. She is currently serving as an International Service Employee of the General Conference to the West African Division. As Education Director of the Senegal-Mauritania Mission, she coordinates the development of Adventist education in these predominantly Muslim countries. She is founder and director of the Senegal-Mauritania Mission Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence. 

Thula began her career in education as a secondary English teacher. She also worked as an English as a Foreign Language instructor and translator in the French West Indies. While completing her graduate studies, she taught first-year writing and ESL courses in the English Department at Andrews. She also designed undergraduate and graduate courses in Secondary Teaching Methods, Assessment and Evaluation of Learning, and Curriculum History. She holds a PhD. in Curriculum and Instruction and a Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Andrews University. She completed her undergraduate training at the University of the Southern Caribbean.

Her current research and teaching interests include teacher professional development, inequity in education, classroom instruction and assessment practices, change theory in education and trends in Adventist education. 

Thula is married to Pastor Thélor Lambert, who is currently serving as President of the Senegal-Mauritania Mission. They have an adult son. In her spare time she is actively involved in community service and humanitarian work, and enjoys gardening, sight-seeing, and collecting local arts and crafts.
